Keep your baby safe from chemicals

Chemicals as we all know, are harmful for everyone but especially babies. There are many ways to keep your child safe from chemical poisoning. First you need to locate all of the chemical’s in your home. If your on your first child, you probably haven’t thought about where to store your chemical’s. There are probably many under your sink’s and in your laundry room in lower cabinets throughout your home. Locating and moving ALL the chemicals in your home out of reach of your child is the most important thing to do right away. If you don’t have upper storage, then a key lockingMagnetic key locking safety latch cabinet latch (magnetic latch) would suffice. Next, you need to be aware that when you have a crawling baby, her wet hand can re-activate the toxin’s in the cleaning products you use, then of course we know where the hand goes next, right in the mouth. During this stage a natural cleaning product is the best way to go. On your floors and even your counters you can use a mixture of white vinegar and water, which works nicely to clean and disinfect. Your cleaning tote’s are also an issue. If you have a cleaning service or maid, you will find that they use cleaning tote’s, you also may use one yourself. A cleaning crew/maid will work in a large area in the home. They leave their tote’s in one spot and keep working. The problem with that is you don’t know where their tote is, and they don’t know where your baby is so often times the baby will find the tote without your knowledge. Make it a rule that cleaning supplies are out of a child’s reach at ALL times, this will eliminate any chance of this happening. Try not to use these products when your child is watching as they always want to do what you do. Teach your child early on the dangers of chemical’s, don’t underestimate what they can comprehend and how early, these kids are smart!
