Keep your babies safe for the holidays

The holidays are here and there are a few things we should keep in mind to keep our little one’s safe. It’s easy to overlook simple safety steps we normally take each day during the holiday season because we are busy rushing around with the hustle and bustle.

When shopping, you will be going from place to place and often times you will find yourself in a rushed position getting out of a parking lot. There might be a line of cars waiting for the person who is waiting for you as you are loading up your packages. This can create a situation putting stress on you to hurry up to be polite and not to hold up traffic. Just keep in mind that whoever is waiting for you can simply wait, or move on, take your time and buckle your child up properly just as you would if you were leaving your driveway to head to the park. If they honk, let them because they are obviously rude and need to seek some anger management classes : ) Of course your child is more important then anything, so keep your focus on your child’s safety.

Be sure to secure all of your packages properly so in the event of a crash, they won’t become projectiles that could injure a passenger. Also, when you are on the way to an event or gathering, don’t be set on getting everyone in one vehicle. This will sometimes force you to seat your child in a way that you usually would not because of safety. If your child would be unable to travel in a proper safety restraint because everyone wouldn’t fit then take two vehicles.

The holidays are the best time of year, especially when you have kids. Your passenger safety routine should actually increase during the holiday season as there are more vehicles on the road, more drunk driver’s and more distractions on the road.

Have a safe and wonderful holiday season!
